So you are probably asking yourself, plumbing company, author and an auctioneer?
You could say that it is in my bloodline.
Growing up, I worked for my grandpa's auction business. I’ve attended what feels like 100 estate auctions, but since I was not a licensed auctioneer, I was not able to legally call bids.
Bid calling (what most consider the fast talking) is an art. The best auctioneers have a chant that is soothing to the ear and if you’re not careful will cause you to spend more money than you originally planned.
On January 30, 2021, I was introduced to an organization called Dream on 3, a nonprofit that's centered around giving ‘dreams’ to children who have life altering disabilities.
This particular year (due to COVID) the auction was going to be online, but the system crashed.
Encouraged by my friends, I hopped on stage and did my best grandpa rendition to help sell a few items for the event. You could say "God winked that night." That event kickstarted what would become Caring Chant Auctions.
In 2022, I partnered with my cousin, Jason West, who has been a licensed auctioneer for nearly 20 years!
Our mission is to assist non profits with fundraising by providing entertainment through live auctions.
Our services include: Emcee, live auctions and auction planning. Comedy is TBD by you!
