Helms has auctioneering in his bloodline. His grandfather owned an estate auction business in Burke County. During an event in 2021, Austin was thrown on stage to begin his auctioneer career.
Bid calling (what most consider the fast talking) is an art. The best auctioneers have a chant that is soothing to the ear and if you’re not careful will cause you to spend more money than you originally planned.
Helms and his cousin, Jason West, have completed over 50 charity auctions across the United States for all kinds of non profits.

On August 13, 2025, Helms received a call around 9PM asking him if he could be an auctioneer for Mr. Beast. By 5AM the next morning, Helms was on a flight to Miami to join Mr. Beast in hopes to raise $5M on one live stream. The auction helped Mr. Beast and his team raise $12,000,000 for Team Water!
